"This flower the king plucked, and placed in Eliza’s bosom, when she awoke from her swoon, with peace and happiness in her heart. And all the church bells rang of themselves, and the birds came in great troops. And a marriage procession returned to the castle, such as no king had ever before seen" - Hans Christian Andersen

Eliza, the sister to eleven brothers, turned into wild swans by their evil queen stepmother; who broke the spell with mute endurance and patience, risking herself for the sake of her brothers. Her sacrifice being misunderstood and condemned, yet finally the truth shone through and her innocence was proved.

A princess worthy of her king's admiration and love, not solely for her beauty and nobility, but mostly for her perseverance, modesty and selflessness.
